Given STEPS’ mission of capacity building through collaboration, STEPS is seeking partnerships with individuals and organizations who have an interest in public space, urban design, community development, civic engagement, the arts, capacity building, community-based research and resource development.
The STEPS Initiative depends primarily on volunteer support. Our Initiative was granted funding from the YWCA's Youth Eco Internship Program in 2010 to provide short-term stipends to the STEPS’ Founding Director and Artistic Coordinator. Beyond this, we are working out-of-pocket to promote the work and enhance the capacity of grassroots Public Space ARTivism.
