Creative Planner Project

In 2011, STEPS began interviewing urban planners across Canada on their community consultation and engagement strategies and the role that creative methods (such as art) have or could play in policy making.

To date we have conductedinterviews have taken place with urban planners from over 20 municipalities across Canada. These interviews will inform policy papers we are drafting on how planners cancollaborate with artists to engage citizens creatively in the planning of their own communities.

If you are a planner (or know of) planning departments that are using creative (especially arts-based) methods of engaging citizens in local initiatives, we want to hear about them! Please take the time to send us a message.
